Have i been duped?
Just bought a supposed honda dax frame n swingarm from ebay, my first one, is immaculate and in a japanese honda box packaged with old news papers from 1991 been stored for years and never been on the bike or built up, problem is, frame number says 702180 stamped on the right side at the bottom, has no st prefix so is it a copy frame or is it something that was meant for foriegn shores, help or its going back, which is a shame as its mint just dont want to have paid £130 quid for a chinese copy, thanks!

well did my research and it aint honda, even though its advertised as one, tryin to blame me now lol, so its going back, i said in future if ya gonna advertise it, dont tell folk its a honda and genuine then say ya didnt know what the numbers were meant to say, so if anyone sees it re advertised on ebay, ask the seller, if he aint straight with ya, report him! I says am hardly gonna buy it for 130 quid if its non genuine copy when they can be bought 40 quid new in chinese copy form, what an idiot!

Re: Have i been duped?
Sent it back today, box had an oldl abel on from david silvermans, so i contacted them and they couldnt prove or disprove it, bike was lovely, all i can think of they never put the st prefix on a frame if its a replacement frame, as the frame is shared by many other variants maybe this aspect is left off so maybe i would have lots of hassle registering it have to s.v.a it after the build, its a shame as its mint, but the seller should have researched it more before it was just put on andsaid it was a genuine frame, i asked for the numbers before buying but he only gave me 3 at the time saying he didnt want to tell me incase i was a cloner, he had 160 odd good abay reviews so i gave him benefit of the doubt, it still may be a genuine artical and many from other forums think it is too but its just to much hassle and i havent got time for messing about as am new to all this, but no doubt it will go back on ebay again just make sure ya ask the relevant questions! :D

Not 100% sure, but my guess that if it isn't a very late Honda frame, it is indeed a copy.
The number is quite strange. Late numbers have more then 6 digits, early numbers don't start with a 7.
No part number on the label on the box? No tag label on the frame or papers of any kind?
Pictures of the holes and welds in the frame should clear things out.
