Keys

Ok, so I have discovered on my "new" bike that the ignition key doesn't operate the helmet lock or steering lock. I am presuming that the ignition key is different and the other two are original. I have seen key blanks available for ST70' s but is there a way to make new keys for the locks on my bike? Or do I need to look for a new lock set for the steering and helmet locks?

Lee~ yes the numbers on the steering lock, helmet lock and ignition all match (#7890). But the key i have (i think #7078), which works in the ignition, doesn't work for the steering or helmet locks. Any ideas?

You won't be able to get the same key working on all the locks unless you get a new lock set (which is quite expensive). Your best bet is to contact the guy who runs this site: http://www.hondakeys.com/

He has a huge range of old Honda keys and you should be able to give him the lock number and you'll be able to buy the corresponding key. I bought a couple of keys from him about 2 years ago and they arrived in a few days (from the US) but I remember reading a post on here by another member a few months back saying that he didn't have the key for their particular lock.

Unless you want your bike to be concourse/perfect then it's cheaper and a lot less hassle just to buy the correct keys.

Someone has been bodgin! Do what james says first and if you have no luck i got full lock kit of lloyd in jersey who goes under user name dax70man on ebay, it cost me £52.00 and he has them in stock! goodluck lee

Mark at HondaKeys.com is awesome! He hooked me up with the right key for my ST70. Anyone needing keys or spares should really contact him! He sent me two different cuts of the key code i have just to make sure I got the right one! Fast and easy! Thanks for the link James!
