Lock Set price?

I thought I would treat the ST70 to a new lock set! but as normal not available from Honda or David Silver.

I just managed to buy an old Z stock Honda NOS lock set with the correct part number from ebay with four keys - Helmet and stearing lock with ignition barrel ,I thought it would only make around £50 Because you can buy copy sets from monkey bike uk for £68 inc del but I was wrong!

I hope i did not pay to much for the lock set but what is the true value? - HONDA parts that are no longer available seam to be priced as rocking horse shit!

I bought a NOS set from Daxman last year for about £36 (I think I was the only bidder so the set went for the auction start price). :D
As you say, you can't buy a matching set from David Silver and from MBUK they are half as much again.

See my new post in the General section about buying parts off Ebay. :?:

Kirk - What condition is your current lock set in? Mine was in a pretty sorry state and I managed to clean them up and they work and look fine now. The helmet lock was the hardest to clean up as it had become quite pitted. I sanded it down with some very fine paper, masked it up, primer'd it and then give it a few coats of Halfords black paint. Obviously after that I lacquered it!

I must admit, there is no substitution for having brand new parts but I wanted to keep it as original as possible.
