Honda ST 70

HI folks, I'm a newby to this forum. I am the proud owner of a 1976 Honda ST70 and have been since 1988. Over the years I have ridden the bike to and from work and numerous other places. Subsequently, I laid the bike up. She has been languishing in the garage for more years than I care to mention. I always knew that one day I would get her out again. Due to the awful circumstances we all find ourselves in I have decided to do a full restoration. After getting her out I was surprised how good her condition is, very little rust. I have decided to restore her to her full glory. I'm not doing a full nut and bolt restoration but spending time cleaning and buffing all her original parts. I'm surprised with a little bit of elbow grease her parts are coming up fantastic. I will renew items like seals, bearings and anything that it perishable. I'm at the point now where I need to decide whether to have the frame and axillaries either powder coated, or spray painted the original colour Candy Ruby Red. I'm sure many of you have had asked yourselves the same question. Your thoughts would be very welcome. I will keep you posted as how I get on. Regards, Neil

Hi Keith,
No replies and no comments to date. Seems like this site is just about dead.
I am not into Facebook or any other social media sites,but I have joined the C 90 Forum.
Their contact is C90club.co.uk
It is a very lively site, helpful and informative with lots of Dax contributors and all are welcome.
It will accept photos . I am very sad to have to suggest this, as the ST 70 site has been very useful to me during my Dax restorations.
I have been a member of the ST70 Forum since 2012. Regrettably it seems as if it is coming to the end.
Maybe will link up with you in the future.

Hi all,

I am about to start again restoring my 1972 ST70. Many years ago I rebuilt the engine after my brother in law managed to seize it up due to no oil.

My little project went on hold and now I am looking forward to getting the bike I learnt to ride on back on the road. Any advise on getting the seat recovered will be greatly received.

I could also do with some advise on where is best to get decals and parts.
