Do you need a battery to start a 1974 Honda st70
Hi I am trying to start my 1974 Honda ST70 so we need a battery to start or will it start without one.

A battery is fairly essential. Good luck.

Will we get a spark without one or does the battery power the lights

These little st70s don't rely on their batteries to start, I've had mine 9 years and the battery has long give up the goast but will still happily fire into action

I think you still need a battery connected even if it is flat.

Yes I agree with that because whilst mine starts with its flat battery I've never tried it with no battery at all
