Electrical Gremlin
A popular topic, I know.
I've reassembled my ST70 following a full restoration. This includes a blast and paint of the frame and a replacement wiring harness, retaining the original switches and controls where possible.
Upon turning the key, I get nothing. No lights, horn or neutral light. Any tips?
I've tried to ensure that I have a good earth for the key switch, the coil and the rectifier. What am I missing?? I've put power directly onto the horn and that works.
I guess I need to pull out the main key switch and test the function??

Look inside the headlamp shell. There will be two sets of white wire. One goes to the light unit the other should be fitted to the white/yellow wire. Since you have a new loom it may be that this has been fitted incorrectly. I had a similar problem. The original Honda loom has a white wire with a small yellow tube fitted, so indicating that it should be connected to the white/yellow wire. Failure to do so causes the problems you have I think. Worth a look at least. Last, check the fuse!!

No lights, no sparks are the usual suspects!
