Greetings. model number and conversion

Greetings all,
Stuart from Preroria, South Africa here.
I recently acquired an ST 70 as a basket case (bits and pieces) and the first question i need to ask is how do i determine the model?
Secondly i would like to convert her from a 6v working to a 12v working as 6v parts are extremely difficult to come by. We have plenty of free sunshine and cheap beer but bikes parts are at a premium. What are the pitfalls to do a conversion?
