I have finally complete my restoration and have now registered the bike after a lot of fuss .
I should have read the articles about chassis numbers etc before I powder coated the frame .
but its now done
The only problem I have is the carb -- the bike is 1974 and I completely cleaned the 30 year unused carb which would not go -- then I got anther standard carb which was dismantled and ultra sonic cleaned and a still a no go.
I purchased a Chinese carb from e bay which allows the bike to run but has a butterfly disc thing which is half the size of the one I took off .
it runs but will not tick over unless I use choke and then the revs are too high to use the gear box.
can anyone help? does anyone know a carb which would fit this bike and have used it ?
while I am on I should say I bought a 6volt wiring loom from e bay -- which is definitely not a 6volt loom -- which I discovered after cutting out the old one -- BE WARNED . BUT I DID MANAGE TO SOLDER THE OLD ONE BACK TOGETHER ..
If anyone has and ideas I would like to hear from them .
