Polishing Chrome
Evening everyone!

So I have recently restored my 72' Dax and now have a bit more chrome on the bike and was wondering what you guys use to keep your chrome nice and shiny?

Hi squid_uk, I use this AUTOSOL METAL POLISH on my ST's and it brings the chrome work up a treat or you can use a polish called Mer ULTIMATE POLISH which is also very good and is a cream and far less abrasive and gentle, it can be used on your paintwork especially IMG_20170522_114149.JPG

Thanks ST70,

I used autosol to polish the aluminium parts but wasn't sure if you could use it on the chrome

A guy I know who polishes for a living, recommended Windowlean the glass polish. He was of the opinion that it was non abrasive and so safe to use on delicate surfaces. I have not tried it myself, but it is supposed to be very good on aluminiun.

Yes I agree with that squid_uk autosol is very good for polishing the aluminium and the Mer would be nice and gentle on the chrome or as Pete has mentioned about Windowlean, the reason being the less abrasive the polish is the kinder it will be on keeping the chrome from becoming rubbed thin

A tip for polishing bare alloy is to apply Solvol using as always piece of cardboard, once the paste turns black, clean off with a fresh piece of cardboard and finally buff up with a duster.
