New Restoration Project
Hi All, After looking for a Dax for a while and having discarded an "Over restored' one (Chinese engine and all after market parts other than the frame) and a 1980 one which was in a really poor state, I finally have closed a deal for a 1991 ST 70 which is in unrestored condition but in fairly good cosmetic state and excellent mechanical state being used regularly. Will be posting pictures soon.

My intention is to keep it as original as possible but adding a few parts from ST's from the 70's to make it look more like earlier faces and restore it using all Honda OEM parts as possible. The exceptions will be front forks which I would like to replace with better ones with disc brakes so it handles and brakes better and rear springs also to aid handling and comfort. Can anyone please recommend what the best options would be for these ? Could you please also recommend which are the best tyres to fit to the original rims. Thanks and regards.

Hi 70'sVintage, the 1991 st70 sounds to be a good base to improve with with a 70s look but with the advantage of disc brakes and better springs, In my opinion it can be far better to get one of these bikes which is more or less pritty much up together than a basket case that can burn up a lot of your money restoring it, good luck with the project and show us some pictures if you can on how you are getting on with it
