G'day Guys,
I picked up a old ST in bad condition, head missing, motor full of water. The frame was in good condition, It was covered in oil, so it was preserved quite well.
Any way, I had the two good engine cases so I purchaed a TB 88 barrell and head for it. And changed out a lot of bits in the gearbox etc etc.
Finally got all the parts together and reassembled it over the week-end.
Turned out well, the TB88 kit fitted together nicely, here a couple of pics.
cheers dan

That looks fantastic, what a great job you have done!

Wish I had your engine skills! Mine needs a strip down as something is wrong with it (and I think it's terminal)!

What a great job ! You should be very proud of yourself. When I saw the work bench it told all.

Thanks Guys,
I'm a reluctant 4 stroke engine rebuilder, two strokers are my game, have done a few two strokers back in my enduro days.
This is my first 4Stroke rebuild.
I had a local mechanic that kept mucking me around, so I downloaded the manuals and had a go.
The secret is to take your time and keep the digital camera handy so to document the strip down.
Pulling the motor down was way harder than assembly. Also,a couple of the specialist tools like flywheel-puller, clutch holder and a good torque wrench helps.
Wayne, I'd have a peak inside your motor If I were you, these 70 engines are pretty strong, you may have a mnior problem. Again get a hold of a manual if your game.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a clean freak, sometimes I even vacuum the workshop floor when I'm bored ;)

Hi
you have done a stunning job on your motor you have got to go some way to make your bike as good as that, how did you achieve such a very clean case.

Just an update, engine mockup in frame.
Have received my Rovaza down pipe, a lot of the ST's here in Oz had an up-pipe, therefore I have to manafucture a bracket to hold the pipe, the frame doesn't have that short extension on the left side.
