ST70 - which model year?
Hi!

I consider buying the ST70 attached. But I am unsure if it is worth it. First I have to find out a little more about which year of build it is - can anyone in here help me? It has been stolen and lacks carburettor, all cables, chain for drive, and the seat - maybe finding these parts will make it too expensive in the end? It is for sale at app 400 USD, plus some freight costs - it stands in northern Sweden, I live in the far south of Sweden. What would you say - should I wait for some better project?

Best regards,

Re: ST70 - which model year?
Hi Anders,

Im not an expert but I would say that if the engine was in good condition and still runs then 400USD is a good price. I paid £400 for mine over 18 years ago and have now had the money and time to start giving it the care it needs, i've already spent over £500 to customise it. New genuine parts are available at great prices and custom parts are also out there.

As for the year, id imagine the guys on here would need the frame and engine number to be able to give you the date.

Just for research purposes try http://www.cmsnl.com/ as a rough guide on cost for spares, obviously you need to know the year before you can be certain.

Hope this is some help.

Hi Anders!
How did it go? Did you buy that bike?
I know it is a 1982 or later. That is because up to -81 the ST70 did not have real frontsuspension. The fork on the bike in your picture has the fork that came in 1982. So, it is a -82 or later...
