This was a total waste of a day.Complete washout due to pissistant rain, more peedoff stallholders leaving at 1pm than idiots like me going in expecting to find load of stalls!Best thing about it was I got in free and the toasted sandwich was great!
Next one is at Kempton Pk on 23rd May.Always a good show.
Cheers, Brian

Re: HAMSTREET AUTOJUMBLE
It didn't. Because of the rather convoluted fuel pipe routing from the tap to the carb inlet - which is possibly a bit higher on the Lifan motor than on the original ST carb- I don't think I'm getting a very good flow into the carb which. The engine started first push of the button last time I tried it and ran a bit erratically until it was warm, then refused to start.I might make up an adaptor bracket to lower the fuel tap mounting so theres a marginally better gravity fed flow and also keep the tank topped up.I wonder if Shorrocks had a similar problem with his extra side mounted reserve tank - I've fitted one as well.
Problem can be solved I'm sure.Mine needs to start on the button as I find kicking it over a bit hard on my 76 yr old right leg and its all too easy to flatten the battery if it doesn't fire up 1st time.
Further report with solution to follow which may help others.

hi
Are you using a fuel filter and if so is it one of the clear type with a paper filter as these don't allow a good flow rate under gravity speak to Adrian about which one to use

Re: HAMSTREET AUTOJUMBLE
Brian,
You're both right. I took away my tap completely and just had a pipe comming out the bottom of the "Y" piece connector. This "Y" piece connected the two pipes from the tank (normal and reserve) then on the single pipe I split again but this time put the flow pipe from the bottom of the existing"Y" piece to the top of a new "Y" piece, then your extra tank to the other side with the bottom pipe, feeding the carb via a tap and foam filled fuel filter. Bloody hell I hope that makes sense, cause i've just confused myself :( That works if you have a single feed carb!

If it's a twin feed carb (normal and reserve) then you still need to carry out the same step as above for the existing tank set-up but this time the feed from the bottom "Y" piece needs to go directly to the normal side of the carb, again through a foam filled filter first. Your reserve tank would go directly to the reserve side of the carb, via a tap and filter set up first. Try that hope this helps ;)

All the best Si

Er....Thanks Tufty and Shorrocks for that info - comforting to know you seemed to have the same problem. After reading your suggestions I've arranged counselling - lie down in a darkened room with a length of petrol pipe and a tap or two to play with.
I'm sure it will all work out so I'll have a fiddle around. Maybe one day I might even ride the thing!
