Hi guys,

A mixture of nervous and excited, just having bought a 1973 ST90. I've also got a 74 chaly (all original except carb as I couldn't get the pesky thing working) and an 69 ST70. Both on the road.

Pics to follow if anyone is interested!

OK, apologies for the wait! Hopefully worth it? Here's my old school Honda minibike collection so far...

1973 ST90 US import. Has lots of good bits, paint, originality etc. Currently going through it, new tank, throttle cable, chain, grips etc. to bring her back to former glory. This one might just be my favourite... for now! ;) ST90 1.jpg ST90 2.jpg 1974 Original Chaly CF70, on the road :) chaly1.jpg 1969 not quite original although it does have matching case numbers to the birth certificate. it's running a chinky 110cc head. And again, on the road :P Dax 1.jpg Dax 2.jpg Just had a little girl 6 weeks ago and the Mrs wants rid of them.. ALL! An unlikely event in my opinion...

Think I might have to stop now though!

This is why I love these little bikes... IMG_0368.JPG Mine is the shiny bus, not the rat :D Bus 1.jpg

I do love it, proper old school. The chaly needs a respray sadly as the previous owner decided to paint it in the wrong paint which has streaked when petrol touches it. Great. Still, it gives me an excuse to paint it camper van colours in not so long.

Awesome looking van and bikes, just outta interest, where did you get the bike rack from and where did you get the luggage rack for the dax from? Cheers

Hi cman,

I just sold the Chaly today on Ebay. It went for £600 which is a bit disappointing but it will help fund getting the other two done up nicely.

I got the tow bar rack from these guys.

Actually quite helpful which is a rarity these days, give them a call to make sure you're getting the right one. The one I got is brilliant, I think I paid a few quid more to have it zinc plated which means it doesn't rust. I thought I'd only use it occasionally but I've actually used it countless times to take bikes for services, camping etc. Really useful and not at all an expensive for transporting your pride and joy without roughing up the interior of your car/van.

Can't remember about the rack. Could it be a genuine Honda NOS maybe?

Cheers :)

Got the ST90 motd this weekend!

Hadn't been run for 20 years I reckon. Cleaned out the carb, sorted out the wiring, lighting, electrics, changed the teaspoon of black sludge for some nice new oil, new drive chain, new plug, fuel tank, tyres, freed off the brakes etc.

Kicked it over a few times running it off a funnel without seat or tank and it bloody fired! Wish I'd videod it, I was jumping around like a loon. Well chuffed and after a few minutes of letting it get hot, smoke cleared and it sounded sweet. Can't imagine it's got many miles on it, sounded perfect. Plus, bonus, changed through all the gears perfectly! Rode it round the garden and feels a lot more like a proper motorbike with the bigger wheels, sturdier frame and beefier "Fat Harry" 90cc Honda engine.

All back together, straight through MoT, now for getting a V5.

Got myself a keeper with absolutely no rust for a grand total of about £1500 including parts and MoT. They're pretty rare as far as I can tell over here too so once I've got the papers, I'll get it on the road and take it to some meets.

Roll on the summer!
