Thought I'd share this with you all, I bet a few will sniger and laugh but we don't all have your knowledge.
Buyer beware!
Won a bike, z50J on fleabay recently and was vey happy.
Did a HPI check and all came back clear, happy daze, emphasis on the daze.
After doing a HPI check they ask you for them to guarantee the check you provide them with the vehicle VIN and V5 reference number.
Anyway just before I collected the bike I got these details from the seller and completed the HPI form.
All done, I thought ready to get up early and drive a few hundred miles to collect the bike.
Then for some reason, with my limited knowledge of Monkeys I became suspicious of the 1st four digits of the vin number,,,, AB07 ,,,,,, Google my friend told me this was a Honda melody,,,, z50's as I thought are AB02.
Lesson learnt, do your homework, check the manufacturer VIN details before you waste your money on HPI.
If it was not for forums like this I think I'd have ended up buying this ringer or somewhat dogey registered bike.
