Use the correct size screwdriver for the brass screws holding the float bowl on as these are easily chewed up if you don't.
With the air screw on the side of the carb (the brass screw which is recessed rather than having a knurled outside) before you remove it screw it all the way in and count exactly how many turns it takes until it bottoms out (should be between 1-1/4 and 1-3/4). Make a note of this and when reassembling set it to the same number of turns out.
The knurled screw is the tickover setting. You can put this back in fairly loose (ie not fully in) and then adjust when the bike is running.
There is nothing really in a carb which can go back together in the wrong place or the wrong way round apart from the throttle slide. When assembling the slide back in the carb make sure that the chamfer on the bottom edge faces the air filter side, not the engine side. Check that the slide fully bottoms out in the carb otherwise your throttle will be stuck partly open. Also make sure that the cable is sat nicely in place in it's ferrule/seat.
Also take care to notice how the float assembly is held in before you take it apart. It's held in place just by a little metal pin which falls out really easily and if you haven't noticed how it goes together before it falls out you may be confused. There is also a little tang on the float assembly onto which hangs the fuel shut-off valve. This valve just dangles on the tang on the float assembly and locates in a circular hole. It takes a bit of balancing to hang this on the tang on the float assembly, locate it in the fuel valve and then push the metal pin back through the float assembly.
If you're unsure, take some photos on the carb as you go along so you can see where everything fits before you disassemble each part.

Have a look at the front page of this site, and down the right handside you will see some various titles. Have a look under the diagram section, then the model of bike, then carb, this shows an exploded schematic view of the carb, for dis-assembly / re-assembly.![]()

Hope this helps Si
